Community Tech Network (CTN) seeks a full time virtual Development Manager to manage the daily activities of the organization’s development programs.
CTN is a nonprofit organization founded in 2008. We provide digital skills training while helping our learners acquire home internet and a device. The heart of CTN is our instructors who train individuals and communities and help them live better lives by staying connected and having access to more information and opportunities. We also offer capacity building training to organizations through our DigitalLIFT program, allowing us to extend our reach and make our work sustainable.
The Position
CTN’s Development Manager will manage an active docket of foundation and corporate giving programs, including tracking grant deadlines for completion and creating compelling proposal and report content. The Development Manager will also support growth in individual giving and corporate engagement.
This position offers opportunities for growth across a wide range of responsibilities. The ideal candidate has strong writing and content development skills; enjoys organizing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment; and is eager to expand individual and corporate donor engagement in CTN’s mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create compelling content for funders, including proposals and reports to foundations and corporations. Track deadlines and manage internal discussions and schedules for submission. Research new funder prospects and help grow philanthropic support for CTN.
- Manage cultivation of corporate partners through events and employee engagement. Research new prospects and help grow corporate support for CTN.
- Manage strategies for individual donor growth through events, mailings, marketing, and volunteer engagement. Support events and other outreach activities for supporter engagement.
- Create powerful content for engaging individual donors, including appeal mailings, donor reports, and acknowledgements.
Essential Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience managing fundraising projects, or an equivalent, in a fast-paced, professional environment; preference for experience in a nonprofit role.
- Excellent writing skills with experience developing and managing content for multiple audiences and channels.
- Experience managing and growing relationships with stakeholders or supporters.
- Attention to detail, a proven ability to stay organized, and a demonstrated enjoyment of collaborating closely with team members to move projects forward. Willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks in a small nonprofit environment. Strong track record of attendance, punctuality, and meeting deadlines.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Mail Merge, and Google Suite. Experience using a contact relationship database (such as CiviCRM or Salesforce) is a plus.
- Passion for working with nonprofit organizations.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Full time position classified as professional non-exempt, reports to CTN’s Digital Equity Programs & Partnership Director
- Salary: $60,000 annually

This position is based in Sonoma County and will be part of a distributed team, including internal colleagues and outside partners in Sonoma County. The position is mainly remote for executing the day-to-day work and will require in person meetings with partners throughout Sonoma County.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery Administration and Operations (70%)
- Serve as primary contact to CTN staff and core partners in Sonoma county
- Organize and attend meetings with partners and CTN staff
- Support partners to ensure referrals to training program are submitted on time and meeting the criteria of program deliverables
- Work with Virtual Program Manager to ensure learners are assigned to trainers and training is happening in a timely manner and with quality
- Support partners to schedule training classes and workshops
- Address issues or escalate as appropriate to CTN or partner staff
- Provide feedback on efficiencies and effectiveness of processes and procedures
- Assist Partners with Affordable Connectivity Program, ACP, events as needed
Evaluation and Reporting (20%)
- Review internal reports and follow up as needed
- Develop, track and evaluate program impact using Salesforce
- Collect and report additional data as needed by funders
- Prepare and submit program development, impact and delivery reports
- Review processes to streamline service delivery
- Generate program reports to the county
- Organize info sessions about Home Connect virtual training to recruit more referring partners to the program
Partner relationship management (10%)
- Attend community events to communicate program information
- Help partners prepare promotional and outreach materials for programs
- Work with partners to survey community members to understand needs, interest and availability to participate in the program
- Keep partner contact information up-to-date
- Communicate partner community issues, updates, and program goals with CTN staff
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently while communicating regularly with a remote supervisor
- Computer and internet proficiency and a willingness to learn new technology tools
- Proficiency with office productivity programs like Word, Excel, Google Docs and Sheets, web browsers, Google Mail and Calendar
- Reliable transportation for work in multiple locations in Sonoma
- Eligibility to work legally in the United States

- Follow an established curriculum to provide 1-on-1 or group training to help adults develop skills to safely and confidently use technology
- Adjust curriculum to address identified needs within a student cohort
- Translate curriculum and documents from English to Spanish
Community Outreach Support and Public Relations
- Act as CTN representative and liaison within CTN learner communities
- Survey community members to understand needs, interest and availability to participate in the program
- Communicate class schedule and send reminders to assure participants attendance
- Contribute content to the CTN website and monthly e-newsletter
Service Delivery Coordination
- Perform site visits at partner locations to ensure proper class set-ups
- Configure devices based on set-up guidelines
- Prepare training materials and documents for trainers and learners
- Ensure compliance with project requirements
- Address issues or escalate to Program Manager
Data Management & Reporting
- Ensure that all setup / follow-up and instruction hours are reported for each session
- Complete and document online assessment of individuals to determine computer skills and training needs
- Collect and report additional data about programs, services, and volunteers, as needed by CTN
